A corner of paradise…

Standard

I was recently back at Camp Mosey Wood for a visit with some of the people I used to work with there who are still lucky enough to be able to spend their summers there. I wish there were a way that I could head back into the woods for eight weeks every summer, but unfortunately, my schedule doesn’t pan out that way. However, I am happy to have friends working there who I can go back to visit for the opportunity to relive, at least for an evening, the special place that is camp.

On another note, my new home here in the mountains is a mere twenty-five minutes from camp. Not too shabby!

Anyway, I took lots of pictures while I was there, and I thought I would share them here to try to relay to the Blogosphere what it is that is so special about this place that we call camp.

This is the lake, Mosey Wood Pond, from the boathouse. You can see the rowboats and paddleboats that are a part of every camper’s time here.

This is another view of the lake from the boathouse. That big yellow thing is the Blob, which is a new and fun addition to camp this summer.

More of the lake, still from the boathouse. This is the swimming area. Can you tell I love the lake? There is nothing like a nice, cool swim in the lake during the heat of the summer.

This is on the road up to the units…I do love the woods of the Poconos!

This is the Rhododendron Trail, which runs around the lake.

The Veterans – that’s Dexter, Turtle, Jodeci, Boomer, and me…Pooh Bear.

And one more shot of the lake…from the path that runs down to the swimming area. Did I mention I love the lake?
